Female Dogs/Puppies

All Bridge adoptable dogs and puppies come fully vetted, micro-chipped, vaccinated (including rabies), and altered (unless otherwise noted).  See specific bios for each dog for more detailed information.  Bridge adoption fee is $125 for adult dogs (over 6 months) and $250 for puppies (under 6 months, which includes a basic obedience training class).

Perdie

Perdie is a gorgeous 4.5-year-old heeler mix who came in to the local shelter as a stray.  As a lively girl who needs an outlet for her energy, she didn’t do so well at the shelter.  Perdie learns very quickly, enjoys training, and is motivated by treats, squeaky toys, and approval from her humans.  She has excellent manners in public — she doesn’t bark at other dogs or people at all — even in the close quarters at the pet store, which is great because she really wants to come with you on your adventures!  In fact, she absolutely loves to spend her time as part of the family and is as sweet as can be.

Perdie has been with her second foster for about 6 weeks now and her foster has learned it takes a lot of treats, time and patience to gain her trust and get her to work with you.  But once she does, she’ll show you how smart she is.  Best of all, she’s a total love bug to anyone she’s around and loves to snuggle and give kisses.  She knows sit, down, stay, place and is learning leash manners.  She has some separation anxiety (who wouldn’t after having lived on the street!), which she and the foster are working on together.

While Perdie adores everyone, she wouldn’t want to overwhelm any very young children with her energetic zest for life so kids 7 years and older are recommended.  Perdie can be a little picky about which dogs she shares a home with so introductions are a must, and she might do best with a male dog about her size.   Of course if you don’t have any other dogs, Perdie is definitely ok with soaking up all your love and attention, too.

***FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED*** Mady

Maddy is a spayed 7.5-year-old boxer/pit bull mix (est. DOB 12/29/09) rescued from the PACC euthanasia list.  She is a sweet, friendly dog who just wants a forever home!  Maddie has been affectionately renamed Maddie Moo by her foster family as she is the bull in the China shop; they adore her lovable smoosh face. Despite her size she wants nothing more than to be in your lap during cuddle time. Maddie loves to snuggle in bed as well, but during walks or play she goes at top speed!  Maddie also likes to listen to any conversation without judgment. She is completely housebroken and knows basic commands. Maddie is very food motivated so could be further trained easily. She definitely should not be in a home with smaller animals (she has gotten into scuffles with her smaller foster sibling so she has to be kept separate) but loves to play with all humans, including kids.  She can be a bit selective with dogs her size but with proper introductions, she will make a perfect addition to the right family!  How can you resist that smile?

***FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED*** Hallie (formerly Penny) ADOPTION PENDING

12193634_10207838101659801_8052652691705860705_n

Hallie is a beautiful 4-year-old pit bull mix (est. DOB 7/24/13) who was rescued from PACC.  She is extremely affectionate and loves chewing on bones or a peanut butter-filled Kong.  She can be a little protective of her family members and as a result has some trouble getting along with other dogs.  Due to changes in foster circumstances, Hallie has been in boarding for quite a while now and really needs to be in a loving home.  She is a friendly, easygoing and laid back pooch who is unfazed by loud noises or a busy household.  After shelter life, Hallie wants nothing more than to find her forever home.  Could it be with you?

Bella (the orig)

bella1bella

Bella is a 4-year-old boxer-pit mix who was rescued from our local shelter. As her name explains, she is absolutely beautiful! She loves tennis balls, long walks, hiking, and is an excellent running partner. At training she is all about sniffing around, but is still able to pick up the lesson. She knows how to sit, lay down, play fetch, give kisses, and is great on the leash. On nice days she likes nothing more than being outside or going for car rides. She is great with kids and other dogs her size, but would rather ignore smaller pups. Bella is in her second foster home because her first foster found she did not have the time to manage Bella’s severe allergies.  She also has valley fever so she is on a special diet and medication. While she does need some extra care for these issues, she is absolutely worth it. Words honestly cannot describe how great of a girl Bella is, and any home would be made so much better with her in it!  She is one of the sweetest gals you will ever meet.

Topaz (only-dog home needed)
Topaz212493909_944384868990915_9046075437478492486_o
Topaz is a mellow 5-year-old pit bull (est. DOB 7/30/12?  may be older) who weighs around 70 pounds (she could stand to lose a few lbs!). Topaz is a very sweet girl who loves attention and showing affection towards her people. She is house broken, does well with basic commands, and always aims to please. Topaz is currently with her second foster, as she did not get along with the dogs in her first home.  Currently, she is an only dog and LOVES it!  However, soon her foster will be graduating from college and Topaz will need to find a new foster home, if not an adopter who will love her and only her.  Topaz was previously thought to have Cushing’s syndrome, but was recently re-evaluated and deemed misdiagnosed. Her thyroid was checked and that came back normal.  She does have arthritis in her hind legs, so gentle walking and non-strenuous play/activities as well as soft bedding would benefit her. She has integrated well in a home full of children, and loves all people! She enjoys her walks in the desert and playing with her rope or stuffed animal, and of course giving the best kisses and cuddles! This loving girl is definitely a gem and lives up to her name; she will make an affectionate and loyal (albeit lazy!) companion to whomever welcomes her into their home.

Aurora (formerly Erin)
aurora  aurora1
Aurora is a 3 year old lab pit mix. She loves her squeaky toys and antlers bones. Some of her favorite past times are playing fetch, going on walks, and snuggling with her cat friends! While she loves her feline friends, she is selective with canine buddies, so meet and greet is a must! She is full of energy so a family that can let her burn some of it off is a must. Aurora LOVES to snuggles and get belly rubs…she’s happy to curl up next to you anywhere. She is a bit sneaky when food is left out but is super food motivated so training is easy. She has basic training; can sit, lay down, give you her paw, stay, and is potty trained (will have accidents if left for a long time, such as 9 hours). She is such a lovely dog that wants to be where ever you are and will instantly become your best friend!

 Luna

1934534_10102953284191823_2010543253155120237_nNew Luna

Luna’s availability is pending additional training.  If you would like to meet her, please contact us.

Luna is a 2.5-year-old spayed lab/pitbull mix (approx. 35lbs, est. DOB 12/10/14) who was surrendered to PACC.  Bridge pulled her from the euthanasia list and she graduated from a board and train program at sol.DOG before settling into her first foster home.  She was there for more than several months when she started to show signs of resource guarding with the resident pup. After time in boarding, a second foster stepped up but found she did not have the time Luna needed in order to progress.  As Luna has shown some selectivity issues, she is back in board and train and really needs a strong/experienced handler who will be dedicated to her success.  She needs structure, consistent guidance and rules to follow otherwise she gets overwhelmed by too much freedom.  This pretty lil gal might be a challenge but we know there is a lid for every pot!  Will you fit Luna’s?
